Admin Portal

The Admin module provides user account management, role assignments, collector configuration, and system settings for LT Auditor MP. Access to the Admin module is restricted to users with administrator privileges.

Accessing the Admin module:

  1. Log in to the LT Auditor MP web portal
  2. Navigate to Admin in the main navigation menu

The Admin module provides access to the following sections:

Section Purpose
User Management Create and manage user accounts and role assignments
Collector Details Configure collector connection settings
System Settings Manage platform-wide configuration settings

User management:

Viewing users:

Navigate to Admin → User Management to view all configured user accounts with their username, email address, assigned role, and account status.

Adding a new user:

  1. Click Add User
  2. Fill in the user details:
    • Username — unique login name
    • Email — the user’s email address
    • Password — initial password must meet complexity requirements
    • Role — assign the appropriate role based on the user’s responsibilities
  3. Click Save

Role-based access control:

LT Auditor MP uses role-based access control (RBAC) to ensure users only access features relevant to their responsibilities. Roles control access to modules and actions within those modules.

Key permission examples:

Permission Controls Access To
createDefine Creating environments and categories in the Define module
deleteDefine Deleting environments and categories
createFilter Creating audit filters in the Manage module
updateFilter Editing existing audit filters
deleteFilter Deleting audit filters
Report permissions Creating, sharing, and scheduling reports
Compliance permissions Managing compliance frameworks and rules
Administrator Full access to all modules including Admin

[Your administrator should define roles and permission sets appropriate for your organization and assign them to users based on their responsibilities.]

Collector configuration:

Collectors are the services that receive forwarded log data from collection modules and pass it to the LT Auditor MP server. Collector connection settings are managed here.

  1. Navigate to Admin → Collector Details
  2. Configure the collector connection settings:
Setting Description
Collector URL The endpoint where collectors send log data
Authentication API keys or tokens for secure communication between collectors and the server
Rate Limits Controls for log ingestion rate to manage system load
  1. Click Save

[Your administrator should confirm the correct collector URL and authentication settings for your deployment and ensure all collection modules are correctly configured to point to the collector endpoint.]

Best practices:

  • Change the default administrator password immediately after first login if not already done
  • Create individual accounts for each user rather than sharing accounts — this ensures the audit log accurately reflects who performed each action
  • Assign the least privileged role necessary for each user — grant Administrator access only to those who require it
  • Disable user accounts promptly when team members leave or change roles rather than deleting them — this preserves their activity history in the audit log
  • Review user accounts and role assignments periodically to confirm access remains appropriate
  • Monitor collector configuration after any infrastructure changes to the LT Auditor MP server or network to ensure log ingestion continues without interruption
  • Document your role and permission structure so new administrators understand the intended access model

[Your administrator should establish a process for onboarding and offboarding LT Auditor MP users as part of your organization’s standard user lifecycle management procedures.]
