Blue Lance Releases LT AUDITOR+™ v6.0 (SP4) For NetWare

Houston,TX - June 8, 2000 - Blue Lance, Inc., one of the leading network security software companies in the country, has announced the newest upgrade to its popular program LT Auditor+™ for NetWare®. The new version, 6.0 (SP4), expands the already significant capabilities of the product designed exclusively to run on the Novell NetWare® platform by:

• Streamlining server filters to allow users to audit the loading and unloading of specific NLMs. This allows the user to audit the LTAUDIT NLMs without having to look at any other application NLMs that were loaded or unloaded. Alerts can be triggered, ensuring that security officers are aware that an LT Auditor+ NLM was unloaded.
• Restricting rights for authorized users of LT Auditor+ to a new level, allowing greater granularity of rights within authorized users in order to define in detail who has access,  rights and authorities to specific parts of the LT Auditor+ application. This extends the security of the product, as security officers can now assign certain Authorized Users the rights to run reports but exclude them from modifying or accessing filters and other configuration parameters. Other Authorized Users may be permitted to only make changes to filters.
• Controlling the settings of NLMs loaded on their server. Authorized users, with rights to change switch settings, can now unload, load and/or change the NLM switch setting from their workstations. This increases security and helps reduce total cost of ownership.
• Providing a brand new UPDATE utility so that users can now apply program and/or configuration updates and patches automatically across multiple servers in an enterprise without unloading and re-loading NLMs. This significantly enhances security and is a great time saving tool for NetWare users, since it totally automates the update process and maintains standard policies across the enterprise.

In addition to these enhancements, 6.0 (SP4) also includes a new report generator designed for running and scheduling reports on audit logs created with either LT Auditor+ for NetWare, LT Auditor+ for NT or consolidated across NetWare and NT. This report generator has a 32-bit interface and generates reports up to 15 times faster than previous versions. The main features of the report generator include the ability to:

• Create complex report queries and extract only the data required
• Group report queries by category for easy reference
• Schedule the reports to be generated and distribute them via email without any human intervention, thereby ensuring the integrity of the reports
• Provide users with the capability to schedule and run reports without a workstation being logged in, enhancing security and productivity
• Provide graphical and summary reports
