By proclamation, Mayor Lee P. Brown designated Wednesday, May 15 Blue Lance, Inc. Day. The Mayor took this step in recognition of Blue Lance CEO Umesh Verma’s contribution to the city by helping Houston become a nationally recognized technology business hub.The Proclamation declares: “Reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit that made Houston great, Umesh Verma formed Blue Lance, Inc. in 1985. Since its inception almost two decades ago, Blue Lance has grown and flourished. The Houston-based technology company is a leading provider of information and computer security and is used to secure the assets of banks, government agencies and healthcare institutions.”
In addition, the Proclamation recognizes Mr. Verma’s leadership role in revamping Houston’s largest information technology conference, ITEC Houston, into an educational venue designed to reach both CEOs and CIOs. For the show, Blue Lance also created ITEC’s first-ever Partner Program and Partner Pavilion which hosted the Greater Houston Partnership, the Houston Technology Center, University of Houston, Rice Alliance and C-TREC.
Mr. Verma also awarded, on behalf of ITEC, $10,000 to the Houston Technology Center and the Greater Houston Partnership.
