Umesh K. Verma is CEO and Founder of Blue Lance, Inc., a premier global provider of information security and IT audit software. For over a quarter century, the mission of Blue Lance has been to ensure the protection of data for banks, corporations, health care organizations and government in over 40 countries. Blue Lance maintains the leading edge in development of IT Security Compliance solutions for Windows and Novell networks to help its clients satisfy SOX, FFIEC, GLBA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, FISMA and other regulatory compliance mandates.
Mr. Verma plays an active role in the planning and development of global technology. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Technology Infrastructure Committee. As a national leader in the area of emerging technologies, he also serves on the Advisory Board of the Houston Technology Center and the Board for The Center for Houston's Future. Additionally, Mr. Verma worked closely with Mayor White’s office and city officials and provided thought leadership around Houston’s Wi-Fi Initiative.
Mr. Verma serves on the University of Houston College of Technology Advisory Board, lending his expertise to curriculum development in information security. His commitment to technology education led him to found CTREC Hilton IT Academy which is the largest, business to business, private, IT training provider in Houston. Mr. Verma, a serial entrepreneur, is a graduate of the Rice University Executive Management Certification program in Finance & Accounting and Mergers & Acquisitions.
In addition to his business and technical community involvement, Mr. Verma is the 2010 Chairman of the American Diabetes Association, Houston Chapter. He is a Future 500 Upside Award recipient presented by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a recent Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year finalist, and been honored as a distinguished entrepreneur by the Houston Technology Center. |
